TAKREEM presents each year an award to one individual or institution in each of the nine following categories:
Humanitarian and Civic Services
Participated in community service projects that deal with social issues such as poverty, illiteracy, diseases, forced or child labor, rehabilitation of mentally or physically challenges, the elderly and other social issues Motivated others, especially the youth, to take on leadership roles in philanthropy and community involvement Demonstrated outstanding commitment through financial support, and volunteered time, expertise and resources that contributed significantly to the impact of non-profit organizations on social development Demonstrated outstanding civic and charitable responsibility Assumed a leadership role in promoting the sustainability of social development achievements Developed innovative approaches to address, philanthropy, development or social issues Have a proven record of mobilizing individuals, resources and organizations to improve the Arab communities as evidenced through measurable outcomes (e.g. funds raised, number of donors cultivated, number of programs executed, etc…)

Environmental Development and Sustainability
For development projects:
a. Made efficient use of existing resources i.e. raw material, energy, surface area, surrounding space, etc.
b. Made efficient use of local products increased usage of energy efficient resources and the use of renewable energy sources
c. Developed the esthetical traits of the project and mirrored the local character of the project environment thus preserving its traditional trait
d. Respected the urban development design standards set by the government authorities/urban development committees (provinces/ cities/ governing sector)
e. Enhanced the use of eco-space versus built areas
Demonstrated a high level of environmental awareness
Raised awareness on the importance of the environmental sector, sustainability and on the need to adopt a new, innovative approach to the sector (for example through campaigns, art works, lectures, publications, etc…)
Demonstrated a positive environmental impact on the community Demonstrated the potential to serve as a model to others

Eligibility criteria:
Eligible candidates must serve as a majority owner and bear principal responsibility for operating a small business, and who will not have reached the age of 35 by Award date
