Bader Al Dafa was former Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).
|He has served as Ambassador of Qatar to the United States, the Russian Federation, France, Egypt and Spain. Also as non-resident- ambassador to Finland, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Switzerland and Mexico. He was formerly Permanent Observer to the Organization of American States (OAS) and Director of the European and American Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.|
Mr. Al Dafa has served with international NGOs on a range of social programs in Africa, Asia, North Africa and Central Asia, and North America.
|He has a special interest in international arts and culture as a vehicle for building understanding between the Arab world and the international community.|
|He has championed education through the Qatar Foundation by assisting prominent universities to become established in Doha’s Education City. Mr. Al Dafa received his master’s in International Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University and has been awarded the Order of Merit from the Republic of France.|
