TAKREEM Selection Board consists of individuals from across the MENA region that are recognized experts in their fields. They come together from diverse professions, renowned for their distinctions and achievements, and their responsibility is to draw up a carefully considered short-list of candidates in each award category that is dealt with independently of the other.

	HE Ahmad Bin Abdulla Al-Ghazali is president and founder of Muscat University College and the Executive Chairman of the Arab Network for Open Learning.
	Throughout his career, he has been a key contributor to the development of educational institutions in the Sultanate of Oman, including Muscat University College.
	He has held several ministerial posts including those of Education, Lands and Municipalities and Housing. During Sheikh Al Ghazali’s tenure in Lands and Housing he oversaw the establishment of laws and regulations governing land purchase and ownership, and developed a strategy for urban planning and building regulation law. He also instigated a system whereby the municipalities compete against each other in friendly rivalry over cleanliness, environmental conservation and improvement schemes.
	Sheikh Al-Ghazali holds many honors including the Order of Sultan Qaboos. He has an honorary doctorate from a University in Sudan and an honorary professor at a University in Vienna.
	Sheikh Al-Ghazali was one of the founders of the Arab Network for Open Learning in Jordan and of the Association of Private Arab Universities.
