Selection Board /2011

TAKREEM Selection Board consists of individuals from across the MENA region that are recognized experts in their fields. They come together from diverse professions, renowned for their distinctions and achievements, and their responsibility is to draw up a carefully considered short-list of candidates in each award category that is dealt with independently of the other.

	Tidu Maini is the Executive Chairman of the Qatar Science and Technology Park where he is also an advisor.
	He was previously Pro Rector of Imperial College London. He is a member of the College’s Management Board and sits on the College’s academic and business committees. Dr Maini is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Goodenough College, London; and Chairman of the London 2012 Olympics Technology Board.
	Dr. Maini’s other positions include: non-executive board member of Fortis Healthcare Ltd India, Imperial College Abu Dhabi Diabetes Clinic, and United Arab Emirates and Imperial Innovations Ltd.
	He is on the Joint Advisory Board of Texas A&M University at Qatar; the International Advisory Board of Thorium Power in the United States, the India-UK Roundtable, the Microsoft European Roundtable, and he is a member of the Emirates Foundation Board of Trustees.
	Dr. Maini has 30 years management experience in the defense, electronics, energy, and ICT sectors in Europe, the United States, Asia and the Middle East.
	He was previously Senior Vice President of Schlumberger Inc, a main Board Member of Sema Group plc; Deputy Chairman GEC Marconi, and Managing Director GEC Software Systems.
	He has a PhD and BSc in Engineering from Imperial College and was a Post Doctoral Fellow of the University of California Berkeley.
