Selection Board /2011

TAKREEM Selection Board consists of individuals from across the MENA region that are recognized experts in their fields. They come together from diverse professions, renowned for their distinctions and achievements, and their responsibility is to draw up a carefully considered short-list of candidates in each award category that is dealt with independently of the other.

	Madawi Al Hassoun is a leading Saudi Arabian businesswoman. She runs several different companies specialized in home furnishings and antiques, real estate, beauty products and consultancy.
	She was the director of a secondary school.
	She was the first female director of a ladies’ bank in Saudi Arabia.
	In 2006, Mrs. Al Hassoun was the first Saudi woman to stand for elections. She was appointed to the board of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce.
	She has represented her country in many overseas business and tourism delegations travelling to Europe, and throughout the Middle East. She is a board member of many business organizations in Saudi Arabia and sits on trade and women’s organization committees at the national level.
	Mrs. Al Hassoun holds many awards including Woman Achiever of the Year in the Middle East Businesswomen and Ladies Achievement Awards and the Faizalbad Welfare Organization Award. Ms Al Hassoun was also honored in the President of the United States’ Women’s International Day speech in March 2008.
